Play for Smite Cup #3 Niklas “Meradana” Bergdahl For the third installment of myRevenge’s International Smite Cup the teams that took part were Reason Gaming, OulaweSports, Banzai Denmark, Bozenka Warriors, ProCore Gaming, Juice Gaming, Big Doggy Beat Down, The Art Of Warfare, Aspect Gaming and Bipolar Method. Just as last week the format was a 16-team knockout bracket, with 10 teams playing. ProCore Gaming got to skip the first round of gameplay and faced Bozenka Warriors in the second round, Bozenka Warriors had achieved victory against Banzai Denmark but in this match they faced much stronger opposition. Bozenka Warriors made some nice plays all throughout the game but it just wasn’t enough because ProCore Gaming were there to counter them every time, their excellent communication and teamplay secured them the victory after 15 minutes. ProCoreGaming’s second game pitted them against the other team to have won one of myRevenge’s Smite tournaments; Reason Gaming. ProCoreGaming picked up the three first kills of the game in quick succession after 5 minutes, ProCore Gaming continued to play aggressively and they managed to pick up the Gold Fury and land several ganks. ProCore Gaming’s playstyle was very disciplined and they did not take any unnecessary risks after getting the lead, creating a gold difference that was too great for Reason Gaming to overcome. The first game of the Grand Finals featured ProCore Gaming and Juice Gaming and the match was very even for the first ten minutes both gold and kill wise and ProCore Gaming only managed to pull ahead in the minutes after that as they scored a deicide and only lost 2 people themselves. The match continued to be filled with teamfights that ended slightly in favor of ProCore Gaming allowing them to build up for a victory after 25 minutes. The second match started with Juice Gaming picking up three kills early but lost a teamfight resulting from a failed towerdive on Ra by Thor and Agni, leaving the score 4-3 in favor of Juice Gaming. 14 minutes into the game Juice Gaming kills everyone except for Anhur and picking up the Gold Fury, losing only Odin. Over the course of a couple of teamfights, particularly one where Artemis managed to survive several attempts on her life with about 100 health Juice Gaming managed to attain the lead and they then picked up the Gold Fury and won the fight for the Fire Giant, this led to Juice Gaming’s victory in the second game of the Grand Finals. In the third game ProCoreGaming got a slight lead early on with 2 kills but about 10 minutes in Juice Gaming starts to come back and they steal a Gold Fury and kill several of ProCore Gaming’s players, leaving the score 3-7 in Juice Gaming’s favor, but they only sit on a gold advantage of about 1k. Only 4 minutes later however ProCore Gaming finally managed to get the Gold Fury and kill 3 people, this coupled with ProCore Gaming’s map control left them with the gold advantage. 19 minutes into the game a 5-minute period of fighting in and around the Fire Giant pit eventually leaving Juice Gaming with the kill on the Fire Giant and the Gold fury and people dying several times on both sides. The final battle about 29 minutes into the game left ProCore Gaming coming out strong thanks to their massive aoe damage in the Fire Giant area, after this battle the Minotaur was quickly pushed and killed. |
