A quick Interview with our team captain & boss toss himself myRCupCake [Preview_ende]DATE OF BIRTH* 26/08/1988 HOMETOWN* Copenhagen NATIONALITY* Danish GENDER* Male Employement/Education: On my last year of my masters degree in coding theory and cryptology from the technical university of Copenhagen PLAYED RACE Protoss We asked Cupcake the following Questions: •Why did you decide to join myR? myR is a professional and trusted team and could help me improve in SC2. I can also start making a name for myself since it will allow me to stream in a few weeks which may give many viewers and hopefully fans. I hope I can help myR in various teamleagues and hopefully give them some results to be proud of at a lan event. •How long have you played ? (RTS and Sc2) Ive played RTS for around 10 years now, warcraft 3 being the game I played for the first 8-9 years. So I have lots of experience in the RTS genre. As for Sc2, I started later than most other people since I still had lots of international lan events in WC3 to attend. I think I started playing SC2 around 1.5 years ago. •Have you played the same race from the begining? No, I started out as terran and achieved decent results and a rank of about 50-70 in GM. But I found some of terrans matchups very boring, especially TvT. So I switched to protoss around 5 months ago. The first month results was bad, but I got into GM after around 1 month and have improved ever since, even been rank 1 in GM for a while. So I think I made the right choice, since I still feel I can improve a lot. •What did you already achieved? In WC3 I have a lot of achivements from international lans all around the world. In Sc2, my only notable achievement so far has been a 3rd place in the Samsung European Championship 2011 in Poland beating Nightend, Bling, Bischu, Slider and more on the way. As for online, I have not participated in many cups because my computer randomly reboots now and then, so usually I can not play a whole cup without getting a defloss at some point. On ladder it also reboots, but I still manage to keep around top 50 GM at almost all times, and sometimes higher. •What are your Goals? I hope to improve my game and be the best danish player. Right now full time professional BabyKnight is the biggest threat, but I hope I can become better than him. I also hope to do well in online leagues, and my main goal is to get at least one more good achievement at an international lan event. •What are your goals for the short, medium and long term for starcraft 2? Short term: Improve, build a small fanbase (I already have a facebook fan-site, www.facebook.com/followCupCake) , win some online tournaments, start streaming. Medium /long term: Hope to win national WCG qualifier and/or do well at another international lan. •How often do you train? (Hours per day or weeks) The last few weeks have been busy with university so not much, but from today on I get more time and I plan to train perhaps 20-25 hours per week. Besides that I wil try to play some ESL online cups. •What is your preffered training method? (Ladder, Cups, Practice matches etc.) In wc3 i always practiced a lot vs specific opponents because I had a higher skill level so ladder was bad practice. In Sc2 I prefer to play a lot of ladder because it makes you play vs a lot of different players and hence you will get practice vs a lot of different strategies. I dont like to play online cups that much because there is too much waiting. But online cups are good for fame and recognition. So ladder for practice, sometimes with some games vs clanmates and so on to practice specific things, and cups for recognition. |
